The Altona Kyokushin Karate Club was founded by Sensei Sherif Bala in the late 1980's. After several years of training, two of the earliest students (Neil & Leon Nuredini) were asked to take over the running of the club as Sensei focussed on his original centre in St Albans.
Neil & Leon Nuredini have been instructing in Altona ever since, and have both acheived the rank of shodan. Before coming to Kyokushin Karate , George Noveski reached senior ranks in a number of styles. George has since settled on Kyokushin and has been practicing the style since in the early 90's, achieving the rank of Shodan.
In 2006, the club moved to a new modern premises in Brooklyn after 20 years at the Altona Life Saving Club.
